This is a topic that is very near and dear to my heart. I believe we live in the world where constant distractions take away from processing the things that happen in our life. Building emotional resilience is so important, just like developing any other skill.
I love this video. Would someone looks like a big intimidating man is actually a very self-aware, introspective individual with great life advice. Not only is he a champion, what is even more important to him is living a fulfilled life. Part of living a fulfilled life is processing the ups and lows. Some points:
Don't stress in the face of adversity, but rather desire it as an opportunity for growth.
The biggest cheat code in life is going after it and not being concerned about failing at one specific task.
Focus on the big picture of who you want to become. The outcomes you get are arbitrary, it's the person that matters.
It's easy to numb feelings with distractions like phones. Numbing feelings only pushes them down temporarily. Feelings resurface as anxiety and overthinking.
A great video on the science of resilience

How to develop resilience: finding a medium where you have a mindset of achievable struggles. Stresses can be interpreted as inconveniences, challenges, and trauma. We should strive to interpret certain stresses, when we can, as challenges.
Key Components of Mental Toughness
Embrace Challenges: View obstacles as opportunities for growth rather than as setbacks.
Develop Resilience: Learn to bounce back from failures and setbacks, using them as lessons for future endeavors.
Practice Self-Discipline: Establish routines and stick to them, even when motivation wanes.
Maintain a Positive Mindset: Focus on positive outcomes and visualize success, which helps to foster motivation and determination.
Seek Support: Surround yourself with individuals who encourage and uplift you, providing a strong support network during tough times.
Strategies for Cultivating Mental Toughness
Set Clear Goals: Define specific, achievable goals that challenge you and provide direction.
Practice Mindfulness: Engage in mindfulness or meditation to enhance your focus and reduce stress.
Reflect on Experiences: Regularly assess your experiences and identify what you can learn from them.
Stay Committed: Develop a commitment to your goals, even when faced with difficulties.
